1. Who we are
FeelIt operates the experience marketplace at feelit.ca from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information under our control. Our privacy contact is hello@feelit.ca — write to us for any question, request or complaint about your information.
2. What we collect
From buyers
- Name, email address and (optionally) phone number.
- Order history: what was purchased, for how many guests, gift messages you write.
- Payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure pages — we never see or store your card number. We receive confirmation of payment and a payment reference.
About gift recipients
- When a buyer sends a gift, they give us the recipient’s name and email address. We use these only to deliver the certificate and support its activation — never for marketing.
- When a recipient activates a certificate, we collect the attendee’s name, email and (optionally) phone so the Experience Provider can host them.
From partners (Experience Providers)
- Business and contact details, agreement acceptance records (including technical details of acceptance).
Automatically — anonymous analytics you can switch off
- First-party analytics: which pages and experiences are viewed and where checkouts start. These events are never linked to you as a person — they are stored without any account or identity attached, as aggregate counters. No third-party advertising trackers are involved; the data goes to us and nobody else.
- Analytics is on by default and can be switched off anytime: open Manage Cookies in the consent banner (or clear feelit_cookie_prefs in your browser to see the banner again). Turning it off takes effect immediately.
- Browser storage we use: feelit_tokens (keeps you signed in), feelit_theme (light/dark preference), your cart contents, and feelit_cookie_prefs (your cookie choices — kept on your device for up to two years so we don't ask again). These stay in your browser.
3. Why we use it
- To process orders, issue certificates, deliver bookings and provide support.
- To send transactional email: receipts, certificates, activation and booking confirmations.
- To prevent fraud and abuse of certificate codes.
- To meet legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
- Marketing email — only if you separately opt in, and every message will include a working unsubscribe link (as Canada’s anti-spam law requires). We do not send marketing to gift recipients.
4. Who we share it with
- The Experience Provider hosting your booked experience receives the attendee details needed to host you (name, party size, booked time, contact).
- Service providers that run our infrastructure: Stripe (payments, USA), Resend (email delivery, USA), and our hosting provider (servers located in the EU). They process data on our instructions under their contractual safeguards.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
- We do not sell personal information. Ever.
5. Where your information is stored
Our servers are located in the European Union, and some service providers process data in the United States. This means your information may be stored and processed outside Canada and may be accessible to authorities in those jurisdictions under their laws. We choose providers that offer protection comparable to what Canadian law expects and bind them to use the data only to provide their service to us.
6. How long we keep it
Order and certificate records are kept for as long as the certificate can be used (they never expire) and as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally six years). Account data is kept while your account exists. You can ask us to delete data we no longer need — see your rights below.
7. How we protect it
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS); access to systems is restricted; sign-in links are single-purpose and time-limited; payment data never touches our servers. If a breach of security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected people and the privacy regulators as PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA require.
8. Your rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Withdraw consent (this may limit what we can provide — e.g. we cannot deliver a certificate without an email address).
- Ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep.
- Complain — first to us at hello@feelit.ca; you may also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If you are a gift recipient, these rights apply to you too — including asking us to delete your details if the certificate has not been activated.
9. Children
Purchases on FeelIt are for adults (18+). Minors may take part in experiences only as attendees under the Experience Provider’s rules and with the consent the provider requires.
10. Quebec and other provinces
If you are in Quebec or another province with its own private-sector privacy law, additional rights may apply to you under that law. Contact us and we will honour them.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
